Houston, Texas- April 29, 2020- Karana Audio Visual Services, LLC specializing in Event Production and Audio Visual Rentals has announced the certification of the Women Business Enterprise (WBE) and the Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) received from the City of Houston. This certification and the entire program is designed to provide an opportunity for certified businesses to perform work or provide audio, video, lighting services related to the City projects.

“At Karana AV we are very honored to earn such a distinguished certification from the City of Houston. The hard work that Anabelle Roman and I have performed during years, have opened us many doors and opportunities. We are not the only Minority Business in the Event Production Industry but also the only woman-led to be certified in 2020. This achievement cannot come in a more crucial time as it is the COVID-19 pandemic and it is serving us as a wave of motivation and enthusiasm. Same vibes that we want to share out there.” - Jose Igartua, Founder.

This time has come to reinvent Karana’s business model, the way to connect with clients, and how to deliver the message. “We believe in our resiliency and that the only way to keep growing a business in Houston is by switching the focus. More than selling is finding a way to provide value and help. In Karana Audio Visual the main goal during this season is to help other businesses with business continuity. Assisting with technology to keep delivering a message, to keep connecting with their team, with their partners, clients, and investors. It is possible! We just need to get out of the box and be open to technology and the digital era.”

The meticulous process to certify businesses under the Women Business Enterprise (WBE) and Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) includes an in-depth review of the business, finances, inventory, operation, and ownership. The business must be at least 51% owned, operated, and controlled by a woman and/or minority. By this, Karana Audio Visual demonstrates their commitment to embracing diversity in any way.
