Tricks When Hiring an Event Technology Vendor

Updated: May 28, 2020

By Jasmine Hicks, Executive Event Specialist at Ellis Productions

At Ellis Productions we obsess over trends, technology, and creating authentic concepts to connect to the client’s vision. Every client’s need differs, and we pride ourselves on giving each event an authentic concept that is true to the company that supports their mission and values.

When contracting A/V suppliers, we look at ratings and reviews and look at portfolios to see if the services rendered are what we're looking for for the type of event being produced. We know and understand that every A/V company has its specialty, so after discussing the event's goals and objectives, we'll have a communication exchange to see if the collaboration is a great fit for both companies.

We will ask a series of questions to ensure the fit such as:

  1. How long have you been in business?

  2. Do you have any industry accomplishments or awards?

  3. Do you have experience with the contracted venue?

  4. What differentiates you from your competition?

The responses typically lead to interesting conversations that will allow a professional partnership to be formed. Although we are open to contracting new suppliers for certain services, we enjoy building partnerships with suppliers we know and trust because we know the quality of their work and they know how we operate and like events executed.

Because Ellis Productions has built a solid reputation, and we care about impressing our customers to the fullest, you can feel confident that when we give you advice, it’s genuinely trustworthy information.
